Women Act organized a high level two day’s National Conference on Post-earthquake Recovery & Reconstruction Interventions: Sharing of Information & Lessons Learned in Kathmandu from 26-27 June, 2016. Major themes of the conference were; (i) psychosocial impact of earthquake: interventions made and challenges ahead (ii) addressing increasing trends of GBV (crimes like trafficking, unsafe migration) after earthquake and the existing legal measures (iii) status of post-earthquake disasters: relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction measures, (iv) disaster management policies with focus on relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction: challenges on implementation and its measures, (v) disaster management and the national action plan, and (vi) post-disaster livelihood recovery process: lessons learned.

More than 200 representatives from government, academia, media, development partners and subject experts participated in the conference. Earthquake survivors from Dolakha, Ramechhap, Rasuwa and Dhading also joined the conference and shared their experience to the audience. This conference was organized with the support from The Asia Foundation and USAID under CTIP project.
