With the generous support from FAO, Women Act organized a national level workshop on Human Rights Based Approach and Right to Food in Nepal in August 2015. Dr. Rajeev Malhotra, an expert in this field from India, presented and highlighted the human rights-based food right, its importance, challenges and approaches in response to the post-earthquake disaster in Nepal. Women Act involved 40 Constituent Assembly Members from various political parties, government officials and concerned stakeholders which include Nepal BAR Association, ABC Nepal, TEWA, SAATHI, The Asia Foundation, Human Rights Commission, Women Commission, media etc. This workshop discussed about the critical needs Nepal should focus on related to the post-disaster food security in the earthquake affected districts.
